India Facts and Figures
India is a secular
country with major religions of Hinduism, Jainism, Sikhism, and Buddhism in it,
then came and joined few other religions like Christianity, and Islam. India is
rich in its culture and rituals and all its resources too.
Population: India is the second
largest country in its population; it has a population of about 1.2 billion people
which it will reach the first place if it prolongs to go in the same rate
Land size:
India has a seventh largest place in land space and it can accommodate this
population.
One quarter of the work force:
According to the survey, the next quarter force entering will Indians in all
work forces.
Millions: India
contains over a million millionaires, though the gap between rich and poor
people still exist.
Language: India has a particular
official language, that is it uses Hindi as it’s official language and English for
common communication purpose, apart from that Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Marathi
and many other languages are being used accordingly in that particular regions.
Value of PI: Baudhayana was the
first Indian mathematician to calculate the value of PI.
University: India first university
was started in thakshila at 700 B.C where many thousand people from all over
world came and learned various subjects.
Largest postal system: India is the
only country which has its largest postal system, and it’s still been used
effectively in the country
Trains: India has its second largest
rail system
Varanasi:
Varanasi is one of oldest city in India and it’s been visited by Buddha at 500
B.C
Wonder: There many sculptural
wonders at India like Tanjore temple, and much other sculptural beauty
Food: Cooking and eating are
important part of India, many of the festivals and gathering implies that
Roads: India has its
largest road network; it consists of over 1.9 miles of roads
Name:
The Sanskrit name for India is Bharat Ganarajya. Now a day’s people often call as, Bharat.
Origin of India name:
“India” is named after the Indus River, and it is the earliest settlers of
homes. The Indus valley is one of the world’s earliest urban civilizations.
